Building the Regen team

Here at Regen we are a team who are passionate about creating intuitive easy-to-use decision support tools for farmers. We come from a diversity of places and backgrounds. This week we introduce another member of our team, Amita Paranjpe, who joined us as computer software developer two months ago.

Amita has a Masters degree in computer applications and over the past six years has been involved with different aspects of computer software development and services for the banking and travel card sectors in Mumbai, India before arriving in New Zealand eight months ago. Amita was attracted to the role in Regen because it was a totally new area for her and she was really interested in how we were using technology to create decision-support tools for farmers.

Amita’s role here at Regen includes developing computer code to enable information from our water irrigation, nitrogen and effluent services to be effectively displayed on your phone or computer. Her work also includes developing our internal web sites that we use to manage all the information required to run the Regen services and recently she was involved in updating our Regen website (www.nzregen.co.nz).

Amita says “I really enjoy being part of a small team and the varied work I get involved with. I love the challenge of having to figure things out for myself while also being part of a team where my ideas are valued.”

Building the Regen team is not only about making sure we have the right people and skills but also about creating a work culture where the best software development happens in a fun and  supportive environment. Encouraging strong teamwork enables us to continually create better solutions for the Regen services.

A happy team and great Regen services, that is a win-win for us all!
