South Island field days

This week Regen was at the South Island field days and we thought we'd share a couple of photos of what we saw while we were there!

The South Island field days have been held since 1951 and alternate between Southland and Canterbury. The Canterbury site was hosted by Lincoln University for 32 years until 2013. As the event had outgrown this site, the field days were held on a 40ha site at Kirwee, west of Christchurch, for the first time this year.

The top photo is of Primary Industries Minister, Hon Nathan Guy opening the field days on Wednesday by chain sawing a log!

The bottom picture shows Paul Reece from IrrigationNZ speaking in front of a demonstration of the Bauer pivot supplied by ThinkWater Leeston, which had a variable rate irrigation system fitted.
